Final lists of companies and tourism boards to be presented at EXPO Dubai 2020 finally published

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton today published on the Ministry's website the final list of companies and tourism boards that will represent strategic branches of the economy and industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the world exhibition EXPO 2020 Dubai in the coming months.

We remind you that 97 companies, seven tourism boards, and 45 projects applied for the call for expression of interest and support package for presentation at this exhibition, and that the Commission, after the first phase of the call, compiled a preliminary list of business entities that passed this call.

After the elimination phase, the Ministry of Economy of KS invited all business entities from the preliminary list to submit mandatory documentation so that the Commission could verify the achieved points per application in the online application.

In the past period, the Commission verified the submitted documentation and the points achieved in the first phase, and compiled the final list of business entities that will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the EXPO 2020 Dubai exhibition.

"In the coming days, we will invite all those who have met the conditions and will hold talks with everyone who passed phase II, in order to once again convince ourselves of the readiness of the participants, their personal competencies, considering that we have industries that will perform as a team and present, both the industry they come from and its advantages, as well as their own businesses," the Commission reminded.

The Commission also published today the preliminary list of projects that passed the first phase of this call, and in the coming days, it will also carry out the verification and validation of mandatory documentation. The Commission points out that the project selection process took longer because they fit the methodology criteria less, and that the process itself required more control compared to companies and tourism boards.

"These are all good projects and we regret that they will not be presented to potential investors, which is why we have reviewed every segment of the submitted projects with great care, in order to select the best. The Ministry will consider all possibilities to provide at least technical support for all other relevant projects and applicants who have a chance to present themselves at EXPO 2020 and be part of this story, to go to this largest world exhibition," said the Commission.

All business entities from the preliminary list that ranked among the top 10 projects in phase I are invited by the Ministry of Economy to submit verification documentation for phase II, no later than December 30, 2021.

"Those who applied for projects will be invited to do a short presentation of the project and its readiness for presentation at the EXPO 2020 exhibition," the Commission noted.

We remind you that the plan for presenting business entities at the EXPO 2020 Dubai exhibition involves a minimum of five days for each industry individually in the next three months, and the detailed plan, i.e., the departure dates of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian representatives, will be specified after all final lists are published.
