FINALLY, Bosnia and Herzegovina gets a Budget for 2020

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, at an emergency session, adopted the Report of the Joint Committee of both Houses of the BiH PA on achieving an identical text of the Law on the Budget of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 23 representatives voted in favor, and eight against. With this vote, the Budget for 2020 was adopted.

We remind you that the Joint Committee for harmonizing the text of the Law on the Budget of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international obligations of BiH for 2020 harmonized the text of the Budget Law, which the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples adopted with different amendments.

The Committee determined the text adopted by the House of Peoples. According to the harmonized text, the budget is in the form as the Council of Ministers of BiH submitted it to the Presidency of BiH, as the authorized proposer.
Zukan Helez, a representative of the Social Democratic Party of BiH in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, assessed the adoption of the budget as Bakir Izetbegović's capitulation to Dragan Čović, while Predrag Kojović, a representative of Our Party in the House of Representatives, assessed the adoption of the budget as an intellectual insult.

Amendments by the HDZ reduced allocations for the remediation of economic damages caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and 750,000 KM were returned to the capital expenditures of the BiH Parliament for the purchase of cars and renovation of premises.
