Utility companies working with increased intensity during the Sarajevo Film Festival

SARAJevo, (Patria) - During the Sarajevo Film Festival, public cantonal utility companies "Rad" and "Park" are working with increased intensity in the city center of Sarajevo.

In addition to their regular duties in the Canton, utility companies are cleaning the city center 24 hours a day, with activities organized in three shifts.

KJKP "Rad" washes and mechanically cleans streets twice a day, and mobile teams perform manual cleaning and empty waste bins, making them active throughout the day.

Thanks to the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton and the Government of Sarajevo Canton, utility companies have hired 300 seasonal workers who will maintain cleanliness in Sarajevo.

"Utility companies were under great pressure due to the hygiene situation in the city that we found. Resolving the accumulated problems and oversights of previous managements of utility companies required time, and at the same time, they faced obstruction from individuals within their own companies, as well as public pressure from citizens accustomed to the KS Government responding to their needs. I formed a working group for cleanliness a month ago to establish coordination between the companies, so that they could respond to citizens' needs more easily and quickly. In a short period, we managed to bring the situation under control, and with 300 new seasonal workers, I believe we have emerged from the crisis. Of course, the cooperation with citizens is invaluable in all of this, as they point out shortcomings via Viber number 062/00-22-44 and increasingly report those who violate utility regulations," said the Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of KS Enver Hadžiahmetović.

KJKP "Rad" asks citizens to dispose of household waste exclusively between 02:00 and 06:00, and to place it in the nearest containers.

After the Sarajevo Film Festival concludes, intensified cleaning activities will continue at the busiest locations.
