Komšić in New York held a series of meetings: Support for BiH on its path to NATO and the European Union

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić met in New York with Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and with the Prime Minister of Estonia Juri Ratas. The interlocutors discussed the political and economic situation in BiH and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, assessing the bilateral and friendly cooperation between the two countries as exceptionally good. Chairman Komšić informed Prime Minister Rutte about the current political situation in BiH, and emphasized that he would not abandon Bosnia and Herzegovina's NATO path under any circumstances, as it would be playing with the future of the country and its citizens. In his conversation with Chairman Komšić, Prime Minister Rutte emphasized the Kingdom of the Netherlands' readiness to help Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration.

The interlocutors stated that there is room for improving the relations between BiH and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, especially in the economic sphere.

Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić also met in New York with Juri Ratas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia. During the meeting, bilateral and political relations between the two countries were discussed. Chairman Komšić informed Prime Minister Ratas about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the reasons for the delay in forming the government in our country. Given that Estonia is currently a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC), Chairman Komšić offered Prime Minister Ratas the experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the advice our country gained during the process of accession to UNSC membership.

Prime Minister Ratas thanked Chairman Komšić for the support and offered Bosnia and Herzegovina the experience and advice they gained in the field of digital technologies. Namely, Estonia, as a member state of the European Union and a country with 1.3 million inhabitants, is a leader in the use of digital technologies. He particularly emphasized that Estonian society is fully digitized, which includes e-government, the electoral process, education, and similar areas. For this reason, he stressed that cyber security is the most important factor in a society based on digital technologies.

Prime Minister Ratas also emphasized his country's strong support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its path to NATO and the European Union. In order to strengthen the friendly and economic relations between the two countries, Chairman Komšić invited the Prime Minister of Estonia and his associates for an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
