SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić received the new Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kathleen Kavalec, on an inaugural visit. Ambassador Kavalec emphasized that the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of six OSCE missions worldwide, aiming to implement OSCE activities focused on six areas of operation: human rights, education, rule of law, gender equality, democratic governance, and security cooperation. She particularly highlighted the OSCE's interest in improving the electoral process in BiH in a way that restores citizens' trust in the results and importance of elections.
Chairman Komšić stressed that while the process of forming the new convocation of the Council of Ministers of BiH is important and should represent the democratic will of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, only those willing to respect valid laws and adopted decisions and strategies concerning BiH's membership in the NATO alliance can participate, meaning those who do not intend to implement valid laws and decisions cannot receive support. Chairman Komšić gave full support to the projects implemented by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Komšić also held a meeting with the Commander of EUFOR, Major General Reinhard Trischak.
