SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The territorial integrity and sovereignty of UN member states must be respected, said the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić today, reacting to Russia's move to recognize the breakaway parts of Ukraine.
Komšić added that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of UN member states are guaranteed by international law.
“Violent actions by certain states that want to achieve their aspirations for the territories of other states through military force must be met with strong condemnation and response from UN institutions and the civilized world. In this regard, I most strongly condemn Russia's attack on the territory of Ukraine,” said the Chairman of the BiH Presidency.
Otherwise, the other two members of the state Presidency also commented today on the Ukrainian crisis.
Šefik Džaferović condemned Russia's decision to recognize the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, while Milorad Dodik stated that he is “following with concern what is happening in Ukraine.”
