Komšić: NATO rejected constitutionality, I welcome the Declaration

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić welcomed the Declaration adopted today by the heads of state and government of the 30 NATO member countries.

"The Declaration does not include the constitutionality of peoples, which was strongly insisted upon by Croatia. This is another delegitimization of that outdated ethnic concept on the international stage, as it shows that it is contrary to NATO and EU standards. Therefore, and for that reason, I welcome the Declaration adopted at the NATO summit, which once again confirmed the sovereignty of BiH and support for Euro-Atlantic reform processes," Komšić stated.

Regarding the inclusion of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH, support for it is expected, Komšić says, constant and nothing new.

"Some expected the inclusion of the so-called legitimate representation of the constituent peoples, but this did not happen because it would be contrary to the fundamental values of the NATO alliance. When it comes to electoral reform, it is clear that it must be carried out exclusively in accordance with the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, which very explicitly mandate the rejection of constitutionality. I also consider the call, or rather the condemnation, of policies that call for divisions to be significant," Komšić stated in his reaction.
