TUZLA, (Patria) - BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić today in Tuzla paid tribute to 71 victims who were killed 26 years ago on this day by an aggressor shell from Ozren.
He said that in all our lives there are days that are better left unborn, and May 25th is one of those days.
"It is all one sadness, a tragedy, complemented by the bitterness of the families because the people who were convicted have been acquitted. What can you say to those people other than to be bitter towards everyone who represents this country in any segment," Komšić said.
Komšić said that every time at meetings with representatives of Serbia, starting with Serbian President Vučić, Šefik Džaferović and he, raise the issue of Novak Đukić.
"Of course, Mr. Milorad Dodik does not participate in this. The question is also raised about the return of two of our citizens to BiH, who are being tried before the court in Belgrade, according to the signed protocol," Željko Komšić said today at Kapija.
For the crime at Kapija, the former commander of the Ozren Tactical Group of the Army of Republika Srpska, Novak Đukić, was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Court of BiH for ordering artillery shells to be fired at civilian targets in Tuzla. Before going to serve his sentence, Đukić fled to Serbia, where he still lives freely today, as he has Serbian citizenship.
"Unfortunately, there is no proper reaction, so we come to the conclusion that Serbia's political leadership has not matured for any kind of moral, human, and ultimately political recovery, when we talk about the crime at Kapija and everything that happened in the whole of BiH. It is obvious that we will have to deal with this for a long time to come," Komšić said.
