Komšić and Field Discuss NATO and Trade Agreement between BiH and Britain

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Matthew Field. In a cordial and open discussion, views were exchanged on the future of NATO integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the framework of the previously adopted Reform Program. 

Ambassador Field particularly emphasized that the United Kingdom's stance remains the same regarding the presence and functioning of the OHR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an important multilateral instrument of the international community.

Economic issues were also discussed, particularly the United Kingdom's interest in investing in infrastructure projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which Mr. Komšić expressed his gratitude and offered assistance to further strengthen activities related to economic relations. 

Particular attention was also given to the drafting of a Trade Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom, which is currently being worked on by the competent ministries of both countries.

For his part, Mr. Komšić informed Ambassador Field about the activities of his office in drafting a set of laws that fulfill certain elements from the 14 key priorities from the European Commission's Opinion, such as the proposal for amendments to the Constitution and the Election Law of BiH, then the new Law on Public Procurement of BiH, and a package of three laws on judicial reform, which would carry out the reform of the HJPC, in accordance with the European Commission's Opinion and European standards.
