Ms&Wood Company Continues to Invest in Youth Education

FOJNICA, (Patria) - An open day was held today at the Ms&Wood furniture factory in Fojnica. This Bosnian-Herzegovinian furniture manufacturer traditionally opens its doors in May to all interested parties to see how production is carried out in one of the leading furniture industries in the region.

In addition to students from secondary and primary schools in Fojnica, a large number of citizens and representatives of other companies attended the visit, and the mayor, Sabahudin Klisura, addressed the guests. During the visit, it was emphasized that the company will continue to provide scholarships to all those who enroll in the Wood Processing School in Fojnica for the next school year, and that it will continue to invest in the quality education of all students.

In addition to scholarships, the company will also provide conditions for regular, paid, i.e., holiday internships at the factory for the upcoming 2019/2020 school year. Meals will be provided for all students, as well as the procurement of books and school supplies for students from less affluent backgrounds. Advanced students can expect further scholarships at universities, and visits to international fairs are organized. All of them are guaranteed employment and opportunities for advancement after completing their education.

“This year, we were also visited by the youngest citizens of Fojnica, lower-grade primary school students accompanied by their teachers. After presenting the company's past successes and plans, the best works of students from the Wood Processing School were awarded. Students with the best academic performance in the past year were also awarded. Together, we toured the company's facilities and viewed an exhibition of student works from practical classes. We saw satisfied faces and heard many positive comments. For us, this is confirmation that we are doing a good thing and motivation to do even better in the future. This open day was also largely dedicated to the youth, in whom we believe lies our future,” stated the Ms&Wood company.

Students with the best results and practical work in furniture making who received monetary awards are Pehlivan Almin, Ramljak Almedin, Salčinović Aldina, Imamović Jasmin, Zahirović Hamza, Šarac Muhamed. Students with the best academic performance in the 2018/2019 school year who received awards are Merdžanić Armin, Zahirović Hamza, and Buljina Nedžmin.

Ms&Wood is the recipient of the German Chamber of Commerce - AHK award for vocational education, winning 1st place in the dual education competition for the 2018/2019 school year, conducted under the auspices of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Ms&Wood produces high-quality designer furniture. It currently employs around 400 workers. Ms&Wood furniture collections have received prestigious German Design Award accolades from the German Design Council, and the most interesting parts of the collections have been exhibited as displays at the Milan Triennale. The company exports furniture to more than 40 countries worldwide on four continents.
