Company 'Klas' donated 10 tons of flour to Merhamet

(Patria) - Sarajevo company "Klas" donated 10 tons of flour to HO "Merhamet" MDD. By the decision of the president of this humanitarian organization, Kenan Vrbanjac, the flour was redirected to "Merhamet's" bakery in Tuzla, which, together with the "Imaret" soup kitchen, operates within the Regional Board of "Merhamet" Tuzla.

"Merhamet's" bakery in Tuzla started operating recently and is the first bakery of this humanitarian organization in BiH. It produces bread for 2,400 socially endangered citizens in the Tuzla Canton for whom "Merhamet's" "Imaret" soup kitchen prepares meals daily.

The director of the Regional Board of "Merhamet" Tuzla, Mensura Husanović, emphasized that the donation of 10 tons of flour from the company "Klas" is very valuable and arrived at the right time, just before the month of Ramadan.

"During Ramadan, our bakery will produce bread daily for our 2,400 beneficiaries, as well as Ramadan flatbreads for all fasting people. Due to the epidemiological situation, the iftars that we will prepare in our "Imaret" kitchen will be delivered to the home addresses of beneficiaries in the Tuzla Canton, as well as to returnee families in Podrinje," said Husanović.

The president of HO "Merhamet" MDD, Kenan Vrbanjac, thanked the company "Klas" for the valuable donation.

"The support of socially responsible companies in BiH, such as "Klas", is significant, because their help greatly assists "Merhamet" and its soup kitchens in effectively responding to their mission, which involves helping and caring for socially endangered categories in Bosnia and Herzegovina," emphasized Vrbanjac.

He reminded that "Merhamet", in its 40 kitchens and their points throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, feeds 8,000 of its beneficiaries and their families in need of social assistance daily.

"The coronavirus pandemic has left deep consequences on our society. "Merhamet" daily receives requests from numerous citizens for help, as they have found themselves in a difficult situation due to job loss and other reasons. Therefore, every support is valuable to us so that we can reach as many such citizens as possible with the necessary assistance," said Vrbanjac and invited donors in BiH and the diaspora to support "Merhamet's" Ramadan activities.
