
EUFOR Commander in BiH Major General Johann Luif, accompanied by his associates, visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today (January 12, 2016) and met with SIPA Director Perica Stanić.
As this is the first visit of the EUFOR Commander to SIPA since Perica Stanić was appointed Director, discussions focused on SIPA's work priorities and future plans, as well as current security challenges in BiH and the world.
Director Stanić emphasized that SIPA's future work priorities will be an uncompromising fight against terrorism, with an emphasis on preventive action, as evidenced by the recent "Damask 4" operation, as well as organized crime, financial crime and corruption, and other criminal offenses within SIPA's jurisdiction.
Major General Johann Luif stated that cooperation with SIPA has been very successful in the past period, and expressed his conviction that it will continue in the future. He stressed that SIPA has EUFOR's support and highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation in areas of mutual interest. He also emphasized that EUFOR values SIPA's overall efforts in combating all forms of crime and ensuring the rule of law in BiH.
