Kojović: I welcome the agreement between DF and SDP, we have a unified stance on coalition with SDA

The president of Our Party, Predrag Kojović, welcomed the agreement between DF and SDP and emphasized that these political parties must clearly indicate whether the practice of coalition with nationalists is behind them, reports Patria News Agency.

- I hope that with this move, the Democratic Front and the Social Democratic Party have closed the chapter of schisms and divisions among civic-oriented parties. Let's not forget that this division occurred when the SDP signed an agreement with HDZ BiH on the 'value of a vote'. I am glad that this episode is behind them. We have communication with the presidents of these parties, mutual respect, and a correct relationship. Soon, we will submit several joint proposals on which we have collaborated to the legislative procedure in the Parliament of the Federation, and we have a unified stance on the issue of coalition with the Party of Democratic Action.

Kojović pointed out that Our Party did not have the bitter experience of coalition with SDA and joint governments, as DF and SDP did, which is why it is important that we were the first – on a principled level – to announce that a post-election coalition with SDA is out of the question.

- It is important that these agreed-upon principles do not remain a dead letter on paper. Our Party will not participate in some post-election political maneuvers, where – when 'votes' are lacking from the Croat Caucus in the House of Peoples, the left will sign some agreements with HDZ BiH. I hope that the time when DF and SDP supported, perhaps tacitly or openly, SNSD, for example, is behind us. I hope that the current majority in the Assembly of Una-Sana Canton is something that will not happen in the future, and the only thing I can say further is to ask SDP and DF to remain consistent in practice with what they signed on Saturday. Both their and our primary political opponents are ideologies that want to divide this country along ethnic and religious lines, and the only way to stop them is to form a government in 2018 without national parties and their appendages. We must be fully aware that we can only achieve this if citizens give us the strength with their votes to defeat the nationalists – Kojović concluded.
