Kojović after Smajić's attack: Force will not prevail

The session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, which was interrupted after councilor Rasim Smajić (BOSS) physically attacked councilor of Our Party Predrag Kojović, continued at the request of NS councilors. After Rasim Smajić's insults directed at councilor Sabina Ćudić, Predrag Kojović stood up in her defense, after which Smajić physically attacked him from behind. Kojović also issued an official reaction to the entire case:

- Our Party has been talking about unjustified privileges enjoyed by government officials for two years. In line with that, councilor Sabina Ćudić today problematized the issue of parking privileges for councilors in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, which directly affect the lives and health of citizens. To support this, she offered a documented example of councilor Smajić, who is usurping the safety of citizens in Nedima Filipovića street with his vehicle. In her presentation, she also mentioned the problem of mothers with babies who specifically asked councilor Smajić to move his vehicle, to which he continuously responds that as a councilor he can do whatever he wants - said Kojović.

After a question was sent to the Ministry of Transport to clarify the status of councilor privileges, councilor Smajić issued a series of vile threats to councilor Ćudić, and repeatedly emphasized to her to tell the mothers from that street what he would do to them and their children.

- The words he used are so vile that it is truly impossible for me to utter them. Referring to parliamentary intervention, I asked for the verbal threats directed at my colleague to stop, to which colleague Smajić reacted with force. This type of behavior is unfortunately our reality, which this time was only recorded by camera. Arrogance and threats to citizens, threats to police officers who are trying to do their job honestly, threats to us who point out violence, are now escalating into open threats to our children and physical assaults in legislative bodies - said Kojović.

- If we do not draw the line now, I fear that the bullies will start to carry out their threats, and the citizens will fall silent out of fear. That is why we insisted that today's session continue, that councilor Smajić be removed, and that we, by continuing our work, prove once again that no one will silence us, especially not with threats and physical force. We are telling them that their force will not prevail.

Kojović especially thanked the citizens who came forward to offer support, and invites them to continue communicating all their problems with us.

- Force did not prevail, and it will not prevail, not in Sarajevo - Kojović said.
