Kojović: We must confront extremist organizations that are recruitment centers for terrorists

Regarding the terrorist attack in Rajlovac, the president of Our Party, Predrag Kojović, made a statement, reports the Patria News Agency.

- First, I express my condolences to the families of the killed soldiers of the Armed Forces of BiH, and I hope that the third, wounded soldier will recover as soon as possible and will not have permanent consequences, Kojović said.

- Since the attack in Paris, we have seen a large number of comments in the media and on social networks that, with the conjunction 'but', relativized the tragedy and suggested that it was only a matter of time before something similar happened in BiH. The fear of all citizens and political subjects who have been pointing out radicalization in certain segments of society for a long time was once again justified yesterday.

Citizens of BiH increasingly distrust the state apparatus, including the belief that our police and intelligence agencies have the political will and capacity to fight extremism. If this vile murder is reduced to the act of an unbalanced individual, a drug addict, who walks the streets armed with a long gun, it will be another missed opportunity to seriously and responsibly confront extremism, regardless of whether it is about Chetnik parades, the Ustasha rehabilitation of the NDH, or Wahhabism, Kojović said.

- Our future and the security of all of us, the citizens of BiH, depend on the answer to the question of whether we will decisively confront all organizations that justify and inspire extremism and violence in achieving their political goals, or whether we will treat this case as the act of an individual 'who is known to law enforcement agencies' and live in false peace until the next attack, which has been the practice so far.

Chetnik, Ustasha, and Wahhabi extremist organizations are not citizens' associations, but recruitment centers for future criminals. The economic poverty and political despair in which we live are fertile ground for all types of violent radicalism, including terrorism.

That, and many other things – the absence and inability of the state apparatus, the flirting of political parties with a voter base that harbors certain sympathies towards Islamist terrorists – almost inevitably lead to the tragedy that occurred last night,” concluded Kojović.
