SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A fire broke out in a nursing home in Dugi Rat, near Omiš, this evening after 7 PM, police confirmed that two people have died.
Emergency medical teams are also on the scene as there are injured people, but it is not yet known how many, reports Slobodna Dalmacija.
The Split-Dalmatia Police Department reports that the fire has now been localized, and the evacuation of the Home is underway.
"According to the information we have so far, two people have died," the Police Department announced.
"We received the report at 7:20 PM and members of the Fire Department Omiš and Fire Department Dugi Rat are currently on the scene," firefighters told us.
"We responded with three vehicles and 15 people. Evacuation and firefighting were carried out. The fire in the facility has been extinguished. Members of the Fire Department Omiš have withdrawn from the scene, and firefighters from the Fire Department Dugi Rat remain," firefighters told Slobodna Dalmacija.
