Who is taking 5,000 KM for a job at RMU Kakanj: Management calls for reports to be filed with the police!

Getting a job in Bosnia and Herzegovina today is a real premium, although authorities claim they are constantly hiring and that this figure has been over 25,000 people in the last seventeen months. However, the situation on the ground is completely different, as evidenced by certain job competitions where several thousand people apply for a certain number of advertised positions, Patria writes.

One such example is the competition at RMU Kakanj, which paints a picture of our society and unemployment. RMU Kakanj announced a job advertisement a month ago for 83 positions. The competition is closed, and as many as 1,640 applications were received for these positions! It has not yet been decided who will get the job among the applicants, and in the Kakanj town square, it is increasingly being said that these positions will be bought for 5,000 KM!

- People are outraged because the price is known. It is shameful that those of us without connections or a thick wallet cannot even hope to make it into the shortlist. Look at social networks, names are almost publicly written of who gave money and who will start working - says one job applicant who, fearing retaliation, did not want his identity revealed.

Kasim Alajbegović, General Director of RMU Kakanj, in a statement to Patria, denied that anyone from the Management is taking money and emphasized that the Commission has not yet met and that it has not yet been decided who among the 1,640 people will establish an employment relationship.

- We have a large number of applicants, and therefore a lot of documentation. We are doing everything in our power to complete this competition procedure as soon as possible. I invite all those who know or have heard that someone is taking money for jobs to contact the judicial and police authorities and let them do their job - says Alajbegović.

The purchase of a miner's job has been talked about since 2013, when unknown persons charged 5,000 convertible marks (2,500 euros) for a miner's job at the Zenica Brown Coal Mine. At that time, after media reports, all information was forwarded from the Zenica-Doboj Canton Ministry of Interior to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office. An extensive investigation into illegal employment was also launched at that time.

At that time, Nermin Šabić spoke publicly about corruption in employment, and was also questioned at the Ministry of Interior, where he revealed who asked him for money. Šabić, a 25-year-old from Zenica, tried to get a job at the Zenica pit eight times, but never got the job. It will turn out that the person who took money for hiring miners came into possession of all applications and systematically called candidates, offering them jobs for money. However, nothing more than this was ever revealed to the public.

Muhamed Lopo, Executive Director for Legal, General and Personnel Affairs at RMU Kakanj, also strongly denied the allegations of our interlocutor that a miner's position is being bought and invited all those with knowledge of this to contact the ZDK Prosecutor's Office.

- This is an outright lie, and whoever has any information should contact the police and prosecutors. I have nothing against the authorities doing their job - Lopo emphasized for Patria.

Incidentally, at RMU Kakanj, the following positions are vacant: conveyor belt rubber stripper - Haljinići Plant (47 workers), bulldozer operator up to 200 kW - Vrtlište Open Pit (3 workers), loader operator up to 250 kW - Vrtlište Open Pit (4 workers), assistant EKG excavator operator - Vrtlište Open Pit (4 workers), assistant ES excavator operator - Vrtlište Open Pit (3 workers), damper driver up to 500 kW - Vrtlište Open Pit (8 workers), vehicle driver for coal transport - Vrtlište Open Pit (4 workers), D category bus driver - Vrtlište Open Pit (4 workers), and worker on waste rock picking on the picking belt - Vrtlište Open Pit (6 workers).
