SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Healthcare workers in the Sarajevo Canton protested in front of the KS Government building, where nearly a thousand workers gathered, also supported by the KS Education Union.
They told the Government that they would not give up on their demands. Towards the end of the protest, a book and a film about the role of healthcare workers in the past war were left for Prime Minister Edin Forto and the KS Government. As stated, a special dedication was left in the book.
"Let them remember what we were," said Kemo Delihasanović, a member of the Strike Committee and president of the Sarajevo Pharmacy Union, briefly.
Several negotiations between the unions and the KS Government's negotiation team have been held earlier, but without concrete results. Healthcare workers, among other things, are seeking a salary increase and equalization of coefficients, while the Government, on the other hand, says they do not have the money for it.
Healthcare workers, among other things, demanded dignified salaries.
It was also emphasized that they are continuing with the general strike and that they will organize an emergency session of the Assembly to decide what to do next and how to proceed.
