Knežević Abolishes Zubac's Practice: No More Filming of "Spectacular" Arrests

Deputy Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Đuro Knežević, who has been leading SIPA since the dismissal of Goran Zubac, has banned the filming of operations, i.e., detentions and arrests of suspects, the Patria News Agency has learned.

This institution, where we sought confirmation of our findings, did not wish to provide further information, but noted in a letter that these are internal decisions.

- We inform you that these are internal procedures of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA). In this regard, we have no further comment – SIPA told us.

This move by Knežević has been welcomed by many SIPA members, especially because they are aware that the filming of operations was heavily used for political pressure and to damage the reputation of certain detained individuals.

Incidentally, Patria previously warned that during the time of Goran Zubac and his reign of terror at SIPA, arrest videos were constantly published only of Bosniaks and Croats, while the arrest of suspected Serbs went without media fanfare, even though dozens of former members of the Army of Republika Srpska were arrested, accused of the most monstrous crimes during the Serbian aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and whose names and appearances the public deserves to know.

But now the question is whether anyone will be held accountable for all the published videos, as videos of arrested Živko Budimir, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Jerko Ivanković Lijanović, Kemal Čaušević, and many others, whose spectacular arrests were published with lightning speed, are still circulating online.

It is evident that Knežević has recognized the mistakes of the convicted former director, who, through Jovica Mirosavljević, known as Chetniks, still knows very well what is happening in SIPA, as well as in the Special Unit of this agency.
