NS - NB Club: Requesting evidence from the US on Špirić's corruption based on which his entry was banned

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Our Party - Independent Bloc caucus requested today from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to ask the United States of America for evidence of corruption based on which his entry into that country was banned.

The reason for this initiative is Špirić's recent appointment as a member of the state anti-corruption commission, as well as statements from the US Embassy in BiH regarding the Špirić case:

"Considering the seriousness of the statements and announcements from the US Embassy in BiH, the level of detail contained in them, and the clear interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina in processing such phenomena, it is necessary for the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to act towards the competent US authorities in order to obtain the mentioned information and documentation. The Embassy stated that they believe Špirić's corrupt activities have harmed both the US and BiH. Such allegations must be taken most seriously, thoroughly investigated, and processed in our country in order to somewhat restore trust in the rule of law, which has been seriously undermined by the fact that Špirić was recently elected a member of the state anti-corruption commission."
