The filming of one of the most expensive Bosnian-Herzegovinian films was completed in Banovići at the end of last month. It is about the work of Zilhad Ključanin, "Hiljadarka", which was brought to the screen by a first-class creative team led by producer Almir Šahinović, writes the Patria news agency.
- Most of the film was shot in Banovići, while a few scenes were shot in Jablanica. That script had problems at one time because it does not deal with contemporary life. Everyone wants to make war-themed films, I have nothing against that, but I was primarily interested in the story, a fateful one that no one has told yet. So it's about a little man who ended up on the largest banknote. That's a world theme - says Ključanin.
He further adds that he thinks people are perhaps a little tired of war themes and believes the film will do well.
- Because it's a story that is almost familiar to us, we know that legend, but it's still a comedy, not a low one, but an elevated one - added Ključanin.
The film "Hiljadarka", which is to be premiered to the public next year, tells the story of Atif Kutrović, an honest, exemplary, and hardworking miner looking for his place in the sun. The excellent cast, which includes Nikola Kojo, Armin Omerović, Aida Bukva, Branislav Trifunović, and many others, should reveal what life was like in that communist period.
- I am glad that the film features a top team of actors from the region. On the other hand, I am glad that Dušan Joksimović, one of the best cinematographers in the former Yugoslavia, filmed the movie. Dušan also filmed "We Are Not Angels", "Rane". Now there is a lot of work on the image, editing, etc. Our vision is for the film to be ready for the next Sarajevo Film Festival - added Ključanin.
The directing is by Nenad Đurić, a Bosnian-Herzegovinian author and creator of the film "Sky Above the Landscape" and the cult documentary series "Positive Geography". The ambitious film project is based on the original screenplay by Zilhad Ključanin. The film's plot is set in a small mining town in Bosnia in 1955, and the film revolves around the miner Atif Kurtović, who was chosen for the image on the 1000 dinar banknote of the former SFRY, his relationship with Tito and everything he represented to the small, newly formed town where he is trying to survive and find his place.
