Klas exports 60 tonnes of raspberries and forest fruit to the Turkish market

Bosnian food industry Klas d.d. Sarajevo exports 50 tonnes of raspberries and 10 tonnes of wild blueberries to the Turkish market, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Turkish partners are very satisfied with the quality of the raspberries, noting that Bosnian raspberries are among the best in the world. This year, Klas purchased 665 tonnes of raspberries and other berry and forest fruit from domestic producers, successfully returning to the fruit procurement business. 

- Almost all purchased quantities have already been placed on the market, or export to Turkey and EU countries has been contracted. We are seriously considering expanding the scope of procurement and processing of raspberries and other berry fruit. The current capacity of Klas's cold storage facility in Blažuj near Sarajevo is over 1,000 tonnes. Our long-term goal is to complete the production cycle, i.e., to develop processing capacities, and to place Klas brand products made from the yield of domestic primary agricultural production on our and foreign markets in the future. We believe that this will be the best way to contribute to the development of this segment of the food industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina - said Rusmir Hrvić, Director of Klas d.d. Sarajevo.
