Klas exports its first organic flatbreads to the EU market

Bosnian-Herzegovinian food industry Klas d.d. Sarajevo has successfully implemented a program for organic production certification and export of its products - Sarajevski somun and Whole wheat flour somun to the EU market. These are the first bakery products from BiH exported to Denmark, i.e., to the EU market, under the "EU organic logo" mark.

- I thank everyone who invested knowledge and effort to realize this project, starting from our technologists, then Klas's experts from quality control and the Procurement Department, through the Development Department and the creation of a visual identity for organic products in accordance with EU standards.

For a long time now, the trend of increased demand for organic products has been increasingly pronounced in global markets, and Klas has laid the foundation for a new segment of its brand development in this regard. It was not difficult to certify something that is already healthy and high-quality, and that is our somun, as a top delicacy of Bosnian cuisine. We will further develop this program with the aim of establishing ourselves as an organic food producer in the European and global markets. Of course, the adopted standards and the rich heritage of Bosnian cuisine make us very competitive in these efforts - stated Rusmir Hrvić, director of Klas d.d. Sarajevo.

Organic products are products obtained from a strictly controlled production method, which is legally regulated. Organic products are healthier and have higher nutritional value. Due to the method and process of obtaining them, which is in harmony with nature, they have greater life energy and strength, which is necessary for maintaining immunity, regenerative processes, and maintaining the vitality of the human body. That is why organic food is tastier.

Organic Control "OK" is a BiH certification organization that has developed a certification program and OK standards for organic production and processing, in accordance with which it implements this program.
