(Patria) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un welcomed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Pyongyang on Wednesday, North Korean state media KCNA reported on Thursday, highlighting ties between two close allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Reuters reported.
When Lukashenko visited the Kumsusan Mausoleum in Pyongyang to pay tribute to former North Korean leaders, he also laid a bouquet sent by Putin, next to a basket of flowers under his name, KCNA said.
Kim welcomed Lukashenko and his delegation with a 21-gun salute, Pyongyang citizens and schoolchildren waved flags of both countries, and a North Korean army honor guard paraded, KCNA said.
KCNA has not yet described the content of the talks between the two leaders.
