(Patria) - Russian forces attacked the capital of Ukraine with missiles early on Tuesday, officials said, with initial reports indicating that residential buildings and other structures had been damaged, Reuters reported.
Reuters witnesses reported loud explosions in the city and said the attack was carried out with missiles and drones.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city's military administration, said on Telegram that several residential buildings, an educational institution and a commercial building in districts east of the Dnipro River had been damaged.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko ordered medical teams to come to the affected parts of the city.
Ihor Terekhov, mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, said Russian missiles and drones were also attacking his city in northeastern Ukraine.
The governor of the southeastern Dnipropetrovsk region said his region had also been attacked and that anti-aircraft units were active in the neighboring Zaporizhzhia region.
