US Secretary of State John Kerry stated that he is traveling to Moscow next week for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Ukraine and a political solution in Syria, and from Moscow it was announced that the Kremlin does not exclude a meeting between Putin and Kerry, reports the Patria News Agency.
Speaking on the sidelines of the climate summit in Paris, Kerry said that Russia "has been constructive" in attempting to find a political solution to the Syrian war.
"I will travel to Moscow in seven days and meet with him (Putin) and (Russian Foreign Minister Sergey) Lavrov, with whom I will discuss Syria and Ukraine," he said.
The Russian news agency Interfax quoted Putin's spokesperson as saying that the Kremlin does not exclude the possibility of a Putin-Kerry meeting.
"If we can join forces to save Syria and achieve a political solution... that would be a huge achievement. That is why I am going there," Kerry emphasized, writes Index.
