The Vice President of the Federation of BiH Mirsad Kebo met in Washington with Jonathan Moore, Director of the Office for South and Central Europe at the State Department, it was announced from Kebo's cabinet, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
As part of his working visit to the United States of America, Kebo also spoke with Congressman John Larson and Congresswoman Donna Edwards.
During separate meetings, Kebo stated that corruption and organized crime in BiH have reached a level that requires stronger and independent action from prosecutors and judicial bodies, which today have a huge number of unresolved court cases.
As the clearest example of this, Kebo cited the attempt to appoint Denis Prcić as the president of an important financial institution in BiH, the Securities Commission, behind which, he said, are private lobbies of a political party in BiH.
Kebo even asked US diplomats to get involved in the initiated processes against Prcić, given that he is also a US citizen.
- There is documented knowledge about the unethical and illegal actions of the former rector of the American university in BiH, Denis Prcić, as well as statements about his false representation, including as an exclusive representative of official US interests in economic, cultural, and political-security terms, which is, of course, the job of the US Embassy in BiH – Kebo warned congressmen and other political officials in the US.
- Prcić also presented himself as the "most influential person" in the US Embassy in Sarajevo. With his influence, he threatened various economic and political entities in our country – Kebo said.
In separate conversations, he also informed US diplomats about the situation after the floods in BiH and requested concrete assistance in the reconstruction of houses and the construction of infrastructure in flooded areas before winter, according to a statement from Kebo's cabinet, reports Patria.
