(Patria) - Qatar announced on Tuesday that it had dismantled two spy cells linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), Al Arabiya reported.
"Precise tracking and surveillance operations resulted in the arrest of ten suspects, seven of whom were tasked with carrying out espionage missions to gather intelligence on the nation's vital and military infrastructure, with three others tasked with carrying out sabotage activities and trained to use drones," the Qatar News Agency (QNA) said in a statement.
The spy cell also possessed locations and coordinates of sensitive facilities and installations, as well as other communication devices.
"During the investigation, the suspects confessed to their links with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and stated that they were tasked with carrying out espionage and subversive missions," QNA stated.
