Qatar intercepts Iranian missiles fired at US base, no casualties or injuries

(Patria) - The Ministry of Defense of Qatar announced that its air defense "successfully" intercepted a missile attack targeting Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, adding that there were no fatalities or injuries in the attack.

Iran launched a "strong and destructive missile attack" on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar in response to the US attack on its nuclear facilities, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on Almighty God and the faithful, proud people of Iran, will never leave unanswered any aggression against its territorial integrity, sovereignty, or national security," the statement said.

Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said the IRGC's attack on Al-Udeid base is a “violation of Qatar's sovereignty and airspace and the UN Charter”.

“We, in the State of Qatar, reserve the right to respond directly… to this blatant aggression in accordance with international law,” al-Ansari said.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council claims that the Iranian missile attack on Al Udeid Air Base was carried out outside residential areas in Qatar.

“This action does not pose any threat to the friendly and brotherly country of Qatar and its noble people, and the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to maintaining and continuing warm and historical relations with Qatar,” the council's statement said.
