Qatar: Israel solely responsible for escalation, continuously violated the rights of the Palestinian people

(Patria) - The State of Qatar has expressed deep concern over the developments in the Gaza Strip, and called on all parties to stop the escalation of violence, calm down and exercise maximum restraint, the Qatari state news agency reported.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar considers Israel "solely responsible for the ongoing escalation due to the continuous violation of the rights of the Palestinian people, including repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli police."

They emphasize the need for the international community to urgently compel Israel to stop the blatant violations of international law, to abide by international resolutions, to respect the historical rights of the Palestinian people, and to prevent these events from becoming a pretext for inciting a new disproportionate war against Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the unwavering position of the State of Qatar on the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
