Kapo: I am proud, from an empty budget we turned 'Centar Skenderija' into a stable company

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Following media reports that he could soon be removed from the position of director of the public company "Centar Skenderija", Amer Kapo, who has a valid contract until 2024, spoke out this evening. 

"Dear friends, a session is scheduled for tomorrow at which I will likely be relieved of my duties as director of the public company "Centar Skenderija" Sarajevo. These were an exceptional six years for me, six years of life filled with challenges, problems, stress, but more importantly, years filled with joy, smiles, happiness and satisfaction after every successful project that we, as a team, provided to the citizens of our city and the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. When I was appointed director of Centar Skenderija in February 2016 at the age of 30, the company's account had 0 KM, workers (total of 111) were owed two salaries, my parents received at my address as the responsible person a letter from the tax administration about a debt of 1 million KM for taxes and contributions from the period 2014-2016, as well as numerous lawsuits against the company that were coming due for payment," Kapo wrote.

He adds that the facility, which was already old, was in a neglected state and without any equipment to make them competitive on the market.

"Today, "Centar Skenderija" is a stable company employing 94 workers with regular salaries, no debt to the tax administration, with most lawsuits settled, and more importantly, without a single lawsuit caused by my decisions in the previous six years. 
Centar Skenderija now also possesses equipment with which it can become a market leader in the region in many areas in the future. Honestly, most of all I am proud of the Winter Magic project at Skenderija, which we, as a collective (Centar Skenderija truly has exceptional workers), prepared for our city and which was visited by over 100,000 citizens in December alone. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of the deputies, the prime minister and ministers over the past six years, who indeed supported most of our ideas in line with the capabilities of the Sarajevo Canton. I truly had a fair relationship with everyone and I thank them for that," Kapo stated.

In his address, he adds that Centar Skenderija will continue to be a leader in providing new and diverse services in the years to come because no individual, including himself, nor any group of people is greater than the symbol of the city that has influenced many lives over the last 50 years.

"And finally, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the support you have given me over the past six years in restoring the former glory of the symbol of this city," Kapo concluded.
