Kaplan responds to Suljagić: A man whose actions are documented in police records is lecturing me

After the Center for Investigative Journalism published a list of federal ministers who, although living in Sarajevo, receive a monthly allowance of 600 KM for separate living, and statements by Salmir Kaplan, the current Minister of Culture and Sports, that he will return the money, the official Facebook page also featured a post by Emir Suljagić, a member of the Presidency of the Democratic Front, who, among other things, stated that he had not seen such spiritual poverty since Nedžad Branković invoked the law, reports the Patria news agency.

Today, Minister Kaplan also responded, writing the following:

- For several years I lived as a tenant while paying for an apartment under construction. Upon moving into that apartment, I still did not lose the right to those allowances (I know it sounds absurd, but the regulation is such), but I completely agree that further use of that right is contrary to the high moral values I personally hold. Since this change occurred recently, I have already taken steps to correct the situation appropriately. Several months ago, I stopped using the right to allowances for housing and separate living. The amount I received for the period in which I formally had the right to receive the allowance but not the moral right, I paid to the Association of War Military Invalids of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton for the treatment of severely ill children of war military invalids.

I am surprised by the degree of tendentiousness of the CIN, which initially had a highly professional approach, which is why I also acted correctly, so I was the only one among all those they wanted to talk to who complied with their request.
