Dragan Vasiljković, better known as Captain Dragan, has been extradited to Croatia from Australia after a ten-year court process, reports the Patria News Agency.
He was handed over to Croatian police officers at Sydney Airport yesterday morning. Vasiljković arrived at Zagreb Airport shortly after 11:30 AM today and proceeded from there to Split, where court proceedings will be held against him.
It was announced that Vasiljković would continue to Split on the same plane he arrived in Zagreb with. However, police took him off the plane in a black van, and shortly thereafter, two police vans with flashing lights left the airport. It is believed that the police decided to transfer Vasiljković to Split by van.
Darko Stanić, the lawyer who will represent Vasiljković in court in Split, expects to speak with his client tomorrow morning. Vasiljković will be handed over to a detention supervisor in Split and questioned by the County State Attorney's Office, which will request that he be placed in pre-trial detention.
