Ship captain forgot to pull the handbrake, Skoda ended up at the bottom of the sea

(Patria) - It is not uncommon to see cars parked on the coast somehow ending up in the sea, and the latest example of forgetfulness or thoughtlessness comes from the Canary Islands, from the town of Arinaga.

Photos show a Skoda Kamiq that divers pulled out of the sea, and according to witnesses, the car parked in the harbor gradually ended up in the sea, reports Autoklub.

The reason: the owner, a local ship captain, did not pull the handbrake, leaving the car in neutral.

As a result, the vehicle ended up at the bottom of the sea. It was retrieved from the water by a diving team, and the police published the photos.

"We dived, located the vehicle, attached it to all four wheels, and brought it to the surface," they told the local newspaper La Provincia in Las Palmas.

They needed a crane and about three hours of work to complete this task.

It remains to be seen what consequences the owner of the submerged car will have to face.

On other occasions and in similar incidents, owners have had to face fines for environmental pollution and recovery costs if the situation was not covered by insurance.
