A 17-year-old youth has been charged with four murders and seven attempted murders in western Canada, and his name has not been released because he is a minor, Canadian officials announced, reports the Patria News Agency.
The attack occurred on Saturday at a school. Canadian police announced that two brothers, 17-year-old Dane and 13-year-old Drayden Fontaine, were killed in a house before the attacker headed to the school where he opened fire. The motive for the attack is currently unknown.
The attack took place in the isolated community of La Loche, home to about 3,000 people.
Gun attacks in Canada are rare. The last major attack occurred in 1989, when a 25-year-old man opened fire at a school in Montreal and killed 14 people.
