Cannabis soon to be legal drug in Croatia, while in Bosnia and Herzegovina it carries up to 10 years in prison

The Croatian Ministry of Health has already engaged a group of experts working on the preparation of new legal solutions, which should be adopted by the autumn of this year, and which will allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes in Croatia.

It is believed that marijuana has a positive effect in the treatment of some diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, some forms of cancer, etc. However, even for medicinal purposes, this drug has so far been legalized in only a few European countries, such as Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland...

The use of this drug in Bosnia and Herzegovina is still illegal. Thus, according to Article 195 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, anyone who unauthorizedly engages in international sale or transfer, or offers for sale, or for the purpose of sale buys, holds, transports or transfers, or mediates in international sale or purchase, sends, delivers, imports, exports or in any other way unauthorizedly places into international traffic substances or preparations declared by regulation as narcotic drugs, shall be punished by imprisonment from one to ten years, Patria writes.
