Kallas convenes meeting of EU foreign ministers to discuss US and Ukraine

(Patria) - European Union High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Kaja Kallas has invited foreign ministers from the bloc attending the Munich Security Conference to meet on Sunday to discuss relations with the Trump administration and the war in Ukraine.

Her move was prompted by this week's conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin and recent statements from Washington about Ukraine, an EU official told Reuters on Friday, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"The aim of the meeting will be to exchange information and assess the latest contacts with representatives of the United States administration and Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference," the invitation to the meeting, seen by Reuters, states.
