(Patria) - The health condition of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who was operated on after an assassination attempt, is stable and the prognosis is positive, said Slovak Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kalinak.
Kalinak said that the worst fears regarding Fico's health have passed for now.
He added that the Prime Minister, however, will not be transferred from the hospital in Banská Bystrica for the time being.
An official from the hospital where Fico was operated on after the assassination attempt stated that the Prime Minister's condition remains serious.
Fico (59) was attacked with a firearm while greeting his supporters after a government session on Wednesday, May 15, in the former mining town of Handlová.
