How people were killed in line for water: New documentary film on the suffering of civilians in Sarajevo coming soon

During the armed aggression of the Serbian army against Bosnia and Herzegovina, 11,541 civilians were killed in Sarajevo. Among them, 1,601 children. The city was under complete siege from 1992 to 1995, Patria reports.

From the Association for the Protection of Historical Values 'Haber', in a new documentary film being prepared these days, they will attempt to show the horrors that the citizens of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina experienced during the siege. Sarajevans in the documentary speak about how they managed to find food, water, medicine... They explain how they kept warm during the cold Sarajevo winters.

So far, several films have been made about the difficult life in Sarajevo during the conflict. The Haber Association says there are still details from that time that are unknown.

- The suffering of civilians in Sarajevo must be talked about again and again - producer Omer Edo Hadrović told Patria.

- We must not forget the crimes against the citizens of Sarajevo, who were only trying to survive. Citizens were killed in lines for water and bread, during funeral prayers and burials. Children were killed while playing. Children were also killed at their school desks - says Hadrović.

For terrorizing citizens during the siege of Sarajevo, the Hague Tribunal sentenced the first president of Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadžić, to 40 years in prison, a verdict that is not final.

The Haber Association has so far produced several films with war themes. Among them are 'Bloody Dance in the City', 'Tuzla is Far Away', 'And They Were Just Children', 'Heroes in White', 'Bosanke', 'Humanists and Heroes - SarajevoTaxi'.
