How to Increase the Competitiveness of BH. Food Products on the EU Market

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Round Table on the topic "How to Increase the Competitiveness of BH. Products on the EU Market", organized on a joint initiative by BBI VIP Business Club, Adriatic Group, AS Group, and Bingo Tuzla, concluded today with great success.

The aim of the meeting, intended exclusively for representatives of the food sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was to exchange experiences from the EU market and provide key guidelines to exporters from the food sector. After defining priorities for increasing the competitiveness of BH. products on the European market, participants discussed proposals and recommendations for facilitating measures for the development of the food sector, strengthening brands and competitiveness, as well as legislation to create conditions for their implementation. Proposals for amendments to laws will be submitted to the competent ministries and institutions responsible for implementing changes.

Announcing the Round Table, Amer Bukvić, Director of BBI Bank, emphasized that at a time when demand for food is growing exponentially, the development of agricultural production is crucial for survival and represents the center of new and dynamic markets.

Amir Bekić, Director of Adriatic Group, spoke about how to make BH. food products competitive on the EU market, as well as about the demands of individual markets and recommendations for domestic producers. "Adriatic Group from Vienna is the largest importer of food from the Western Balkans region into EU countries. I hope that through our presence in EU markets, we will open new export perspectives for BH. companies that are ready for the challenges of the European market," Bekić stated.

Rusmir Hrvić, President of the Management Board of AS Group, one of the leading exporters from Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressed the importance of participation in the EU market.

"The EU is our most important foreign market, as two-thirds of AS GROUP's total exports go to the EU. We see our opportunity precisely in our uniqueness and our competencies for the inimitable taste of Bosnian cuisine. I believe that the competent institutions will also recognize these potentials and adopt appropriate laws, measures, and decisions aimed at increasing the level of competitiveness of the food industry in general, with a focus on placing domestic brands on the market of the neighboring EU."

The Round Table is the first in a series of events aimed at strengthening the Bosnian-Herzegovinian industry and the competitiveness of BH. products on the foreign market.
