How Milošević destroyed Dubrovnik and the heritage of humanity for the sake of the 'Serbian World'

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the shelling of Dubrovnik on December 6, 1991, as part of an online campaign marking places and dates of suffering in the post-Yugoslav wars, SENSE - Center for Transitional Justice
publishes the video Dubrovnik 1991 - Monuments in the Crosshairs.

The video brings testimonies about the destruction of the historic core of the Old Town under UNESCO protection, which - as stated in the verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) - represented an attack not only on the history and heritage of Croatia and the region, but also on the cultural heritage of all humanity.

The five-day online campaign Dubrovnik 1991 was launched on December 4 with the publication of a video on how the ICTY investigated, reconstructed and prosecuted the deliberate destruction of cultural and historical monuments in the wars waged in the 1990s in these areas. In the continuation of the campaign, which lasts until December 8, three more videos with statements and verdicts from the Dubrovnik trials before the ICTY will be presented. In addition, two online exhibitions will be set up: photographs by Pavo Urban, who was killed while filming the shelling of Dubrovnik's Old Town on December 6, 1991, as well as footage of the consequences of the shelling that the ICTY prosecution introduced as evidence in the trials of Slobodan Milošević, Pavle Strugar and Miodrag Jokić.
