How Bosnian Cities Look Through the 'Eyes' of Artificial Intelligence

(Patria) - How artificial intelligence (AI) can help in creating art (when in the right hands) was demonstrated by photographer Boris Trogrančić, who created fantastic visions of cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina by combining several tools.

- I sent a request to AI for more greenery because I would like to see more natural elements in cities in the future.

As a graphic designer and photographer, I can certainly say something positive about artificial intelligence and its increasing use for creating visual content.

Tools such as Chat GPT4, Midjourney, DALL-e, and similar are increasingly used to create various content, and the technology has long been available to everyone through mobile applications.

However, as is the case with most digital tools, professionals also use these instruments to enrich their creative process and speed up their workflow to obtain the final product.

Something that used to take me several days of designing in software can now be created in much less time with the help of artificial intelligence algorithms and adequately formulated prompts, explains Trogrančić for Punkufer.hr.

Ideas and quality distinguish amateur results from professional ones, so brilliant visuals also require some time invested in learning and practice. But can artificial intelligence become a competitor to photographers or artists?

- I do not believe that this technology represents a kind of competition for designers, photographers, or videographers.

On the contrary, I think the creative process is facilitated, and the human factor is still irreplaceable, says Boris, whose works are the result of top-notch photographs and thoughtful prompts given to AI software, on which the final result depends.

- I think this is a story similar to cameras – the equipment doesn't make the final outcome, so you won't necessarily take great photos just because you invested a lot in equipment.

As the relationship between people and digital tools deepens, the design profession will likely quickly turn into teamwork where the human factor is combined with artificial intelligence.
