Kakanj: State of natural disaster declared after landslide in Bare

Based on the suggestions of geological experts who arrived from Tuzla this afternoon, the Municipal Civil Protection Headquarters of Kakanj tonight made a decision to evacuate another 6 families from the Bare settlement, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

A decision was made to allocate funds to the families who were evacuated from the Bare area. Each family received 700 KM in aid to purchase food and other household necessities. Food packages worth 100 KM were also provided. For all families endangered by the landslide, the Municipality of Kakanj will pay rent in the monthly amount of 150 KM; for families whose homes were not destroyed but were evacuated for safety reasons, aid in the amount of 200 KM will be paid.

Experts in geology and geodesy, professors from the Faculty of Mining in Tuzla, who were at the landslide in the Bare settlement during the day, gave recommendations to the municipal structures for landslide stabilization, and recommended to the members of 14 potentially endangered families not to return to their homes until a detailed analysis of this soil movement is completed.

We remind you that a landslide occurred last night after 8 PM, resulting in one fatality and three rescued individuals.
