When the Master Grabs the Accordion: Everyone in the Balkans Danced to Samir's Kolo, and You Will Too

(Patria) - One of the most famous regional accordion players, Samir Nurkić, will once again delight fans across the former Yugoslavia with his new project.

This accordion virtuoso has released a video for his first kolo "Balkanjero".

In the video, he gathered members of folklore societies from all over the region. Thus, in the video, along with Nurkić's kolo, Croats, Bosniaks, Herzegovinians, Serbs, Montenegrins, Macedonians... are dancing in their traditional costumes.

According to Samir, with this kolo, he wants to send a message of peace and tolerance to all people around the world.

- The kolo was recorded in my studio "Zartar" in Zagreb. I am the composer of the kolo, and some of the most eminent names in the music world from our region participated in the instrumental.

Milan Strašni played the saxophone, Dragan Marinković played the violin, and Dragan Todorović played the bass and double bass.

The video, which was filmed in the vicinity of Zagreb, was handled by the well-known Croatian cameraman, director, and actor Hrvoje Podobnik Gero.

I invested all my emotion into this kolo, and the interpretation and recording of the kolo itself were done in one "breath," and I hope the audience will feel that.

This work is also the culmination of my work so far, which will be understood by instrumentalists who will recognize the difficulty of certain sections in it.

The purpose of the kolo was to cheer up my friends a bit in these gloomy times. Otherwise, I am preparing many more surprises, and we will talk about them when I manage to realize everything - says Nurkić, who will most likely perform in Stuttgart, Germany, for New Year's.

Samir became known to the public after his participation in the Croatian Supertalent, after which he broke through to the hearts of the audience with his unique arrangements of various pieces, one of which is the arrangement of the world-famous song "Jingle Bells" in six ways.
