Dragan Čović, President of HDZ BiH and Speaker of the House of Peoples of BiH, consciously or unconsciously, admitted today while 'socializing' with journalists that he follows the policy of Milorad Dodik, and is not as strong a promoter of European values as he likes to claim.
Of course, he says a lot, but he doesn't support it with actions. Thus, Čović, probably when the subconscious overcame the conscious, said today that "in no document do we have an obligation to condition the formation of the Council of Ministers with anything, not even the ANP".
The first Annual National Plan (ANP), part of the Action Plan for BiH's accession to NATO, has thus become a secondary issue for Čović, even though he swore by BiH's NATO path, but a partnership with Milorad Dodik and clearly the same policies pursued by this duo in order to finally achieve the secession of BiH, admitted what analysts had suspected since the end of the General Elections.
Čović is necessarily with SDA, but he will never betray SNSD and Dodik. Not even in a situation where he has to betray the European values of Croats.
Foreigners have recognized this for a long time, so, as Patria previously wrote, due to Čović's increasingly dangerous actions, he is very close to US sanctions.
Čović's rhetoric, especially in the last few months, is equally negative as Dodik's.
The methods of blackmail in forming the government have continued, and today the previously declarative talk about the path to NATO and the EU has ceased.
Čović has taken a side, now the question is how Bakir Izetbegović and SDA will respond. Will they continue the game in which HDZ wins, in a way that they do not consider DF and SBB as partners, but as satellites of SDA?
Izetbegović should urgently present the parties that are with SDA as equal partners, otherwise, it is known who loses. It is difficult to play two against one. Especially when you have a bad goalkeeper, it is inevitable that you will concede a goal. But this is not a football game, the state is at stake, so this situation should be taken seriously.
Čović threatened the paralysis of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we have it in practice, ministers from the ranks of HDZ do not attend the sessions of the Council of Ministers, and Čović clearly states that there will be no Council of Ministers without SNSD.
The leader of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, was placed on the US Blacklist back in January 2017. Čović blindly follows him in everything. Will he do the same in this?
We wrote that Čović's luck and advantage over Dodik is that Croatia lobbies for him, so his going on the Blacklist is on hold for now, but are things changing now that Čović is also against the ANP, and Croatia is part of NATO?
With such actions, Čović has sided with the Russians, which distances him miles away from 'his' Croatia and European values.
