Search continues for fugitive Sejfović, police on high alert

MUP KS Commissioner Mevludin Halilović told the Patria agency that MUP KS members are on high alert and are still searching for fugitive Amel Sejfović from the Sarajevo prison. He escaped from the Miljacka prison unit in the center of Sarajevo on Sunday afternoon at gunpoint.

A masked person on a motorcycle was waiting for him outside, but they managed to escape in an unknown direction. The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office conducted an investigation last night, and the investigation is ongoing. More information will be available during the day.

Commissioner Halilović stated that they are cooperating with other MUPs. 

During yesterday, the guards who were on duty during Sejfović's escape were also questioned, and last night searches of residential and other properties were carried out in the Ilidža area. 

Sejfović is accused of robbing a bank in Ilidža on November 5, 2015, when cyclist Kemo Bašić was killed in an exchange of fire with the police. More than 200,000 KM were stolen at the time, and the police only managed to find a portion of the money.
