It is still unknown if the termination of cooperation between Google and Huawei will affect BH Telecom's business

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Reuters reported that Google will terminate cooperation with the Chinese company Huawei, due to measures taken by the United States against China.

A Google spokesperson said that existing users of Huawei phones running on the Android system will continue to be able to use Google applications, as well as updates.

"For users of our Google Play services and protection from Google Play Protect, these services will continue to function on Huawei devices," the spokesperson said.

However, future versions of Huawei smartphones running on Android will lose access to the Google Play Store, Gmail, and YouTube, as well as the Chrome browser. "Huawei will only be able to use publicly available versions of Android and will not have access to Google's services and applications," a source told Reuters. 

It is not yet known how the US sanctions could affect the business of BH Telecom, writes the Patria agency. The largest telecom operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BH Telecom, recently awarded the contract for the implementation of the 4G network to the Chinese company Huawei. 

BH Telecom launched its 4G network, based on Huawei's technology, in mid-April, and is already experiencing operational difficulties because of it. Just over a month after the launch of the 4G network, the company has not yet managed to stabilize the network, which is causing communication disruptions among BH Telecom service users.
