(Patria) - Ever since the Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta took a tram ride from Ilidža to Čengić Vila on August 31st, and announced "test rides" and works on September 3rd, he has not made any further announcements, nor has he posted updates on social media about visiting workers and ongoing construction.
However, works have been ongoing for days at the Čengić Vila tram turning loop, where preparatory works for laying new tracks have just been completed. At Remiza, works are being carried out in two directions (from Ilidža towards Remiza and from Otoka towards Remiza), which is hindering traffic flow on Sarajevo's main thoroughfare and causing a collapse during peak hours. Today, a larger number of workers and machinery were present, and concrete was being poured simultaneously. Passengers are still being transported by buses, and the deadline set by the project for this section has been missed.
Patria documented the progress of the works at these two locations this afternoon.

Although the minister announced on September 3rd that procedures for the technical acceptance of the new Sarajevo tram line had been initiated, it is clear that we will have to wait some more time for a tram ride from Ilidža to Čengić Vila.
