35 more people charged after murder of Greek fan in clashes with Croatian fans

(Patria) - Greek prosecutors on Sunday charged 35 more people in connection with the fatal stabbing of a young Greek fan before a Champions League match, bringing the total number of people charged in the incident to 105, AFP reported.

Of that number, 102 are from Croatia and are suspected of links to the 'Bad Blue Boys', fans of Dinamo Zagreb who traveled to Greece last Monday, the day before their team's Champions League qualifier match against AEK Athens.

The others are two Greeks and an Albanian. Authorities are looking for another Greek national, also suspected of involvement in the fatal attack, according to the same judicial source.

Michalis Katsouris (29) died after being stabbed in a mass brawl that broke out on the streets of the Greek capital.

Following his death, UEFA postponed the third qualifying round match between the two teams until August 19.

All those remanded in custody have denied involvement in Katsouris's death. The charges they face include murder, involvement in a criminal organization, and illegal possession of weapons.
