Jordan to Host Meeting Between Syria and the United States

(Patria) - Jordan will host a meeting between the United States and Syria to discuss the situation in the war-torn country and explore reconstruction efforts, the Amman Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday, Al Arabiya reported.

The meeting on Tuesday, which will be attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-
Shaibani and US Special Envoy for Syria Thomas Barrack, will "discuss the situation in Syria and ways to support the reconstruction process of Syria on foundations that guarantee its security, stability, and sovereignty," the statement said.

This will be a continuation of talks held between officials in Amman on July 19 regarding the deadly clashes in the Syrian province of Sweida, which is predominantly Druze.

Reacting to the meeting announcement, Barrack expressed on social media platform X "our
collective determination to move towards a future where Syria and all its people can live in peace, security, and prosperity."
